Verdict

Amazon TextractTextract's main selling point is price: $0.0015/page for basic text extraction is hard to beat. If you're on AWS, it plugs into S3 and Lambda cleanly with no servers to manage. Form and table extraction are solid. The downside is the same as every cloud-provider OCR tool: you need AWS expertise to set it up, it locks you in, and support costs extra. It also has fewer pre-built document processors than Google's equivalent.

Best for: AWS dev teams who need cheap, scalable text and table extraction
Not for: Teams not on AWS, or those who need pre-built invoice/receipt processors
💰Starting at: $0.0015/page
